£1650 raised for MoD charities
9/8/2007
Barloworld Handling, the materials handling equipment specialists, helped raise £1,650 for MoD related charities, SSAFA and BEN, at the recent DVD show at Millbrook.
Barloworld ran a remote control forklift competition from their stand with a SAT NAV system as the prize for the fastest driver each day. Over 200 competitors took part raising £250 over the two days. Liverpool, Chelsea and England football shirts and match tickets supplied by Barloworld also helped raise an additional £1,400 in the charity auction at the gala dinner.
Barloworld Handling is the preferred supplier of materials handling equipment to the Armed Forces and is the UK's exclusive distributor of Hyster counterbalance and warehouse equipment. The company maintains over 4,000 units of equipment across almost 600 MOD establishments including 18 overseas locations.
At the DVD show, Barloworld exhibited a wide range of equipment including a Hyster H16.00XM-12 container handling truck lifting a 20' ISO container which visitors could not miss as they approached the outdoor stands. Other trucks on show included Hyster's new H4.50FT Fortens counterbalance truck and the latest from Hyster's 3 and 4 wheel electric range of trucks.
