Team Barloworld ended the Tour of Britain with further important placements .In fact South African Robert Hunter placed third in the bunch sprint ending the Tour of Britain's eighth and last stage, Blackpool - Liverpool (110km), after he struggled for the victory against Alessandro Petacchi. At last Petacchi (Lpr-Ballan) took the win ahead of Jul

ian Dean (Team Garmin) and Hunter had to settle for his third.
With regards to the general classification, Brit Stephen Cummings achieved second position overall only 5 seconds behind the winner. He was well supported by his team mates, even if it left a bad taste in his mouth because of the 5" between him and the final victory. Stephen tried to catch some time bonuses during the final short stage, but he only managed to gain one second. The french winner Lequarte controlled the race from the start managing his lead together with his team Agritubel, but Cummings spared no effort. He was a little bit disappointed after the race as he has already finished second in the Tour of Denmark's overall, early this summer, missing out by just a few seconds and he would have loved to have won with the race finishing in his home town of Liverpool.
Stephen will have the chance to exploit his strong shape in the next Road World Championships in Varese, where he will be one of the major contenders both in the time-trial and in the road race.
