In accordance with the specific requirements of LOLER 1998, forklift trucks must undergo an independent thorough examination at least once a year. The legislation states that lift truck users are personally responsible for the safety of equipment used.
Barloworld Handling is a supplier of Thorough Examinations and has a quality conscious approach. In accordance with approved procedures the safety critical components of your truck are examined and recorded. A further written report is completed which will inform you of any defects and the appropriate time-scale in which they require attention.
What is a Thorough Examination?
A Thorough Examination is like an MOT for a car that must be carried out and reported on separately from routine maintenance. A detailed inspection of all the safety related parts of a fork lift truck is undertaken. In addition to the brakes, steering, tyres etc being checked under PUWER 98 all the lifting components, hydraulics, chains, forks etc are inspected in accordance with LOLER 98.
